I believe configurators are among the most powerful UX tools available. They turn complex product offerings into something personal, visual, and actionable - translating user intent into tailored outcomes.
But their strength is also their weakness: the vastness of choice becomes cognitive noise. Most configurators today function like sandboxes — open-ended, passive, and often overwhelming.
In a world where attention spans are shrinking and users expect instant clarity, this no longer works. Configurators need to evolve from tools into guided, intelligent entry points - active experiences that catch and hold attention, while adapting fluidly to user needs.
