After defining hypotheses that guide how to address my users’ core needs, it’s time to get specific about what success looks like for this redesign.

This step isn’t just about setting vague targets. It’s about turning the hypotheses into real goals tied directly to my users and the configurator experience I’m rebuilding — goals I can measure and use to keep my redesign on track.

What I landed on

<aside>

Clara (Active Seeker)

Our configurator will let users customize and confirm product choices quickly without forced contacts, which will affect Active Seekers like Clara by giving them control and confidence in their decision-making process. We will measure effectiveness by tracking task completion time and drop-off rates during customization.

Daniel (Future Planner)

Our configurator will let users save their progress, explore options at their own pace, and access clear upfront information, which will affect Future Planners like Daniel by reducing pressure and increasing engagement over multiple sessions. We will measure effectiveness by monitoring save/resume usage and frequency of return visits.

Aisha (Guided Explorer)

Our configurator will let users explore options playfully with light guidance and share designs easily on social media, which will affect Guided Explorers like Aisha by increasing inspiration, enjoyment, and social engagement. We will measure effectiveness by tracking interaction depth, social shares, and repeat visits.

What this means for the redesign

These goals aren’t abstract — they’re my compass for rebuilding the configurator from scratch. I’m not just tweaking; I’m aiming for a meaningful upgrade based on how real users behave and what they actually want.

Next, I’ll brainstorm and prototype features that can deliver on these goals — and soon put them in front of users to see if they really hit the mark.
